Everything was very good, we had great 1 day here. The location was perfect and quiet in a fairly quiet area, near Ella train station, a peaceful area and the rail tracks. Nothing too much trouble, the venue met the needs...

The rooms were clean. the staff was wonderful and welcoming. A super location near the railway track leading directly into the city and by a temple. They offered wake-up service and ironing free of charge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this homestay. The location was fantastic, with a scenic walk along the train tracks and plenty of opportunities to interact with the locals. The family who runs the homestay were incredibly caring and provided us with helpful suggestions for local activities. The Sri Lankan breakfasts served on the balcony were absolutely delicious, and we even received a takeaway breakfast for our early train departure.
We felt right at home at this homestay, and the hosts were always willing to go above and beyond to assist us. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay.

Great location with beautiful views of the sunrise, waterfall, and surrounding greenery. The owner and his family were very friendly and always available to help if needed. The breakfast was delicious and made with fresh ingredients from their farm, a real feast to start the day. I also loved the fact that they had cats and dogs around, it made me feel at home.
The exterior of the homestay looked like it was under construction, which was a bit off-putting. the balcony at the dining area was quite dark at night, making it difficult to see while having dinner.

We had a wonderful time at Wood Heart, extending our stay to enjoy their excellent hospitality. The friendly family went above and beyond to make us feel at home, even helping us arrange our journey to Ella. They looked after us when my son was ill and the breakfast on the private balcony was delicious. The hotel offers a short walk to Ella city along the railway tracks and is a great starting point for tours and hikes. If we return to Ella, Wood Heart will be our first choice!
Do recommend this hotel.

We really got our money's worth at Wood Heart. The room was spacious, clean, and peaceful, with a breathtaking view from the large balcony. The location was just right, a short walk away from the bustling town but far enough to enjoy tranquility. The family running the hotel treated us like their own, always friendly and helpful.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast even better is more vegetarian options.

The family is fantastic, going above and beyond to help us with everything we needed and more. The food here is absolutely fabulous, a must-try compared to eating in town. The view from the deck is awe-inspiring, with a picturesque backdrop of the sunrise, Rawana fall, passing trains, and lush greenery. The location is perfect, just a short and scenic walk along the train tracks to the town. It's a great base for hiking up Ella Rock. The homestay is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. one of our favorite stops during our travels across Sri Lanka.

Every room at Wood Heart is cozy and comfortable, with a seating area where you can relax and unwind.
Personally, I found the tile/marble floor in the double room a bit cold and impersonal.
